The Girls-1966.........

The Early Years........

"The Girls" began their carreer in music at an early age by performing in local talent contests.  Margaret and Diane, age 6 and 4 respectively, entered and won local talent contests singing such songs as "Blue Moon" and "Over the Rainbow."  Rosemary and Sylvia began studing classical music at an early age.  They performed with local symphonies, including the famed Huntington Symphony Orchestra.  Eventually the four sisters banded together, merging their talents and became known as "The Sandoval Sisters."  Playing their own instruments, Margie-drums and lead vocals, Rosemary-lead guitar and vocals, Sylvia-bass and vocals, and Diane-rhythm guitar and vocals performed at local events.  It was at one of these events that they were discovered and signed by Capitol Records as "The Girls."
